NUWEIGH has supported the local community of Vanuatu after the terrible storms this year. After the cyclone much of the islands infrastructre was damaged.
Roads, Towns, schools and Hospitals were greatly damaged.
NUWEIGH showed our support by donating a few LOG 244 baby scales to the Island. See below an email from the locals.
Good morning to you both,
The gratitude that these people have is overwhelming and very humbling. The Chief of the area and the Aid Post staff send their most heartfelt thanks. They have been asking for basic replacement furniture and medical supplies from the local government & hospital but couldn’t believe that their prayers would be answered by friends overseas. They lost the small women’s and baby building completely, and have repaired as best they can the remaining building used for dispensing basic medical aid and medicine.
Unless you have travelled here its hard to understand the depth of feeling they have and the respect they gave by the chief attending and even a small custom dance.
Thank you both so much for the fantastic generosity and the time you spent on making this a reality.
Enjoy your day.
Cheers
Jenny
